Shellexperiencehost Not Installed Correctly

Posted on  by  admin

Hello,I have the problem that suddenly my start menu does no longer open. The annoying thing is, that the same thing happened to me already one month ago. At that time I tried to fix it with the in-place installation via the media creation tool, which did not help, so I reset my PC and had to install all applications again. Afterwards it worked again. Now, only one month later this happened to me again. I tried to run the start menu troubleshooter. The result was that'Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost' and 'Microsoft.Windows.Cortana' applications need to be installed correctly.

StartCorrectly

However, the troubleshooter itself does not fix this problem, neither do I know how to do this myself. It would be nice if someone could help me with this.I also tried running dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth as suggested in thread. As a result I got the following:Error: 0x800f081fThe source files could not be found.Use the 'Source' option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see also tried running sfc /scannow.

Shellexperiencehost.exe Crash

Here is the result:Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix someof them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windirLogsCBSCBS.log. Forexample C:WindowsLogsCBSCBS.log. Note that logging is currently notsupported in offline servicing scenarios. So, as it seems, no success so far.I also checked for system restore points and available updates, but there are none.Apparently I am also not able to run modern apps anymore. There is a calculator-key on my keyboard that should open the calculator app.

If I press it now, the calculator only pops up for a split second and then disappears again. I am also not able to open the action center.Apart from that the system works fine. However, without the start menu productive working is not possible. The next thing I am going to try is to fix the problem using the media creation tool. What else could I do to try fix my OS?

Required Applications Are Not Installed Correctly

Windows 7 and Windows 8 were very stable and reliable operating systems, but with Windows 10 I've had a lot of problems, so far.
