WHISTLER TRX-2 25.000 - 1300.000 MHzDMR DIGITAL & ANALOGUE, MOTOTRBO, MOTOROLA P25, NXDN, AM, FMThe WHISTLER TRX-2 is our first recommended base scanner. It has a good coverage range but more important it is also DMR Digital capable along with analogue.

There are many analogue users out there to listen to, from The Marine Band and Rescue to Civil and Military Air Bands, Local frequencies such as Taxis, Businesses and Warehouses, Quarries, Construction, Security and other bands such as CB, PMR446 etc. However.Many users are switching from analogue to digital systems and the TRX-2 covers these.Most users are remaining analogue, but many local users such as Shop and Pubwatch, Local Councils,Parking Enforcement, Hospitals and Security are switching or have switched to digital. DMR is the popularUK Digital Standard, and the TRX-2 covers this mode so you will be able to listen to digital and analogue userson the TRX-2. If you have been listening to a user on a normal analogue scanner and have noticed the voicehas turned to a data type noise then it's most likely the user has switched to digital.Be wary of other scanners that are advertised as digital as a lot of these refer to the US modes not used over here,Such as MOTOROLA P25 (APCO-25) which is the US standard where DMR is our standard in the UK, so be sure toget a DMR capable scanner to listen to digital in The UK. Other less used digital modes in the UK include dPMRand NXDN which are often included on DMR capable scanners.
